Crafted from solid rubberwood, the oak version features MDF veneered side rails, while the white version includes MDF melamine side rails for a sleek and durable finish. The bed frame is equipped with a sprung slatted base, which provides natural bounce and adjusts to pressure points for enhanced comfort and support during sleep.
The frame's gas piston mechanism has a strength rating of 588 N, ensuring smooth and easy access to the storage compartment. The Phoenix Ottoman Bed is robust, supporting a maximum weight load of 350 kg and accommodating mattresses up to 45 kg in weight.
For the gas pistons to function correctly, a mattress must be placed on the bed. Please note that Birlea beds are designed for UK standard size mattresses, with a recommended maximum mattress height of 203 mm to ensure optimal performance and comfort.
The recommended minimum age for this bed is 6 years.

Strong bed, easy installation, 5 star seller!
Kids do love these, our grandchildren can testify to this, they love them and of course there’s the usual argument about who sleeps at the top 😂. They take a long time to make, so put aside half a day, all bunk beds do I’m sure. I find it tricky to make the top one (that could be because I’m not as agile as I once was of course!!). The bookcases on each level are a wonderful addition for toys & games. Paintwork does mark if you’re not careful, but overall it’s a great addition to the house.
The box was quite damaged when it arrived, however the product was so well insulated, the beds inside where totally fine and unmarked.
Lastly, I need to give a huge round of applause to the unflappable and always available customer service, it is second to none, very impressed!!
