Ashby Solid Pine Detachable Bunk Bed with Trundle

The Ashby is a solid pine bunk that sleeps two, or three with the pull-out trundle, and comes apart into two freestanding single beds when the children want their own rooms. At 163cm high it suits rooms with sloping ceilings and keeps the top bunk an easy climb. Finished in white with oak accents, it's a bed for a shared room now and two separate rooms later.

The trundle does two jobs. Pull it out and it's a third bed for a sleepover or a visiting cousin. Push it in and it's a deep drawer for spare bedding and toys. The ladder fits on the left or the right, so the bed goes whichever way the room needs.

Built in solid Scandinavian pine, with the structural parts in solid timber and MDF used only for drawer bases and panels. It's a two-person build. If you'd rather not do it yourself, add professional assembly at checkout. The delivery team build it in the room you choose and take the packaging away, so the bed is ready to sleep in the day it arrives.

Both bunks take a standard UK single mattress, 90cm by 190cm, and the top bunk's guard rail is designed around a mattress no deeper than 15cm. That figure is a safety measurement, not a suggestion: a deeper mattress raises the sleeping surface and leaves less rail above it.

The trundle is different: it needs a mattress that slides under the bottom bunk, and the trundle mattress shown above is the one that fits it. Two children need two, three need three.
